DNK Days 2018 integrates a programme of adventurous music, performance, sound art, and contemporary thought. We strive to (re)create a thriving community built around a shared love for new kinds of practice. We present events and exhibitions at De Appel (Broedplaats Lely), Punt WG, Muziekgebouw aan 't IJ, San Serriffe and Theater Perdu. Our aim is to encourage listening, exchange and discourse around the new music and sound-art landscape of Amsterdam.
DNK Days hosts a range of national and international artists, composers, musicians, ensembles, writers, performers and philosophers.
The concerts, project presentations, performance lectures and exhibitions attempt to nurture a thriving community in Amsterdam and re-establish a regular and critical stage where a cross section of musical, artistic and theoretical practices are presented to encourage continuing dialogue among and between audience and practitioners.
DNK-Amsterdam is an artist collective actively producing concerts and exhibitions of media, sound and performance artists for more than 10 years. Functioning as an outpost in The Netherlands for this type of programming, we provide context and resonance for presentations of otherwise obscure and elusive artists in a precedent-setting program that appeals to a loyal audience of music and art lovers as well as the curious and the young. DNK-Amsterdam is produced and programmed by Seamus Cater, Koen Nutters and Martijn Tellinga.
Stichting 2, the foundation responsible for DNK-Amsterdam is overseen by board members Dante Boon, Leonie Kruizenga and Gert-Jan Prins.
DNK-Days 2018 is supported by Amsterdam Fonds voor de Kunst, Mondriaan Fonds, Fonds Podiumkunsten, Fonds Kwadraat, STEIM, Urban Resort.
